We worked with Chris Motley and his team to create a digital product that's helping make workplaces more diverse, equitable, and inclusive.
As the son of a single mother raised in the Chicago suburbs, Chris Motley knows first-hand how much it costs to build a future if you are not a young, white man with a wealthy family. Thinking that other young people should have it easier than he did, he founded Mentor Spaces.
We worked together with him and his team to design and build from the ground up a digital product that is helping high-performing, Black students and young professionals navigate the road to success
We crafted the brand in Figma inspired by the story of America's first black women's club. For developing the app, we used React Native, React Query for backend connection and data caching, and Reanimated 2 for animations.
Recently awarded as one of the Best Apps for Good on Google Play's Best of 2021 and Gold Winners at the Edison Awards for the Best Social Innovation Leadership Platform, Mentor Spaces is getting exceptional outcomes. This social innovation startup is also a lesson for digital product makers. It teaches us that no matter how commonplace it may sound, our work can help build a more just world.
We joined forces with Chris Motley to shape and create a platform that facilitates virtual mentorship among employees and prospective candidates.
“Z1's partnership has been invaluable. It's been a truly great collaboration, and we feel very grateful for all the hard work the teams made to make Mentor Spaces a reality.”.
