Connecting golfers through innovation
Fairgame began with a simple but profound insight: golf needed a walk through the XXI century. Its founders, each passionate about the game in very different ways, recognized the complexities that often arise when trying to find fellow golfers with whom one truly connects.
The founding team includes four passionate enthusiasts of the sport: professional golfer Adam Scott; entrepreneur Ben Clymer, with extensive marketplace experience; digital entrepreneur and CEO of this venture Eric Mayville; and respected creative director Andrew Hayne. Just as people use digital platforms to arrange meetings or meals with strangers, they believed golfers could benefit from a similar approach on the course.

The team ideated a platform that would simplify social connections within the golfing community. Z1 transformed this vision into a captivating and functional product. During the process, they ask us to develop a second product to complement the first: Fairgame Pro, a first-of-its-kind platform to manage golf tournaments, leagues, and events.

For Fairgame, every step of the design process was rooted in a commitment to represent the spirit of golf authentically.
The result is a dual-purpose platform that empowers clubs and tournament organizers to manage events efficiently while providing players with an engaging social network. Despite the challenges of balancing usability and information architecture, Z1’s solutions have enabled Fairgame to deliver a seamless user experience.
Redefining the integration of golf and technology
Fairgame is an app that has it all: a social profile to connect with other golfers, game modes to keep things engaging, stat and wager tracking, a built-in handicap system, and seamless integration with its tournament management platform, Fairgame Pro. In other words, Fairgame offers the tools to enhance every aspect of your golfing experience and, of course, it requires a lot of development muscle to bring each of its features to life.
Making this product was a technical and logistical challenge. The Z1 team rebuilt the entire codebase from scratch, leveraging Django and React Native for the platform’s scalability and performance. Understanding the complexities of the sport proved a challenge itself.
The original Fairgame app and the new tournament platform, developed in Next.js, are now fully integrated, creating a unique, modern formula that sets Fairgame apart from competitors. The seamless blend of tournament management and social interaction enriches the user experience.
