About Z1

We are an international digital studio that transforms ideas into incredible products. We are part of Tiny, a Canadian investment fund behind industry giants such as Dribbble or Metalab. We work with North American startups helping them create and launch disruptive products to the market.

Z1 is not a design agency with several engineers, nor a development consultant with a handful of designers. We are a team of more than 70 designers, engineers and communication professionals that approach each project holistically.

We always work as a team, both remotely (we have colleagues in New York, San Francisco, Vancouver, etc.) and in person at our main headquarters located in the center of Seville, a 700m2 space where you will feel at home.

What are we looking for

A Scrum Master is responsible for ensuring that the studio strictly adheres to the work methodology's principles and dynamics, ensuring that the team is always on track to deliver high-quality work on time.

What you will do

Your day to day would involve some tasks like these:

  • Facilitate the adoption of agile methodologies within the organization.
  • Help eliminate impediments that may affect product delivery or sprint completion.
  • Foster communication and collaboration among team members and with other areas of the company.
  • Promote continuous improvement and teamwork.
  • Be a servant leader.
  • Convey the Agile philosophy to the team, explain why we do things the way we do, and what values this working framework holds.
  • Understand the used processes, their purpose, when it makes sense to apply them, and when it is more convenient to make exceptions.
  • Facilitate team-level ceremonies and ensure they meet the established format.
  • Ensure ceremonies are held within the agreed timebox.
  • Ensure teams and work follow agreed-upon procedures.
  • Work together with the Product Owner and other team members to create value in each sprint.
  • Ensure team members have the necessary tools, processes, procedures, etc., to fulfill their work.
  • Ensure team members are well-coordinated, and dependencies are detected and resolved before they become impediments.
  • Collect metrics that help us detect improvements and determine how effective the introduced measures are.

What we expect

Requirements

Besides showing us your previous work, you’ll need:

  • Previous experience as a Scrum Master in software development teams.
  • Solid knowledge of agile methodologies and frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban.
  • Ability to lead and motivate work teams.
  • Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and collaborate with other areas of the organization.
  • Knowledge of project management tools such as Jira.

Desirables

  • Have scaled Agile in an organization.
  • Experience leading remote work teams.
  • Ability to conduct workshops on agile methodologies.
  • Have worked in startup environments.
